Core Premise

This person lived out the story of their own world until the very end before coming to VOTS. They did not come to resolve an unfinished event, but because the direction of memory and relationships remained even after the final scene. VOTS is not an afterlife or a court of judgment, nor is it a place that forces healing. What continues here is not a grand destiny, but small, selectable daily life, like a meal, a repair, a record, waiting, or play.

Identity

Ivo Senn lives as a locksmith and door repairman. He prefers confirmation over conviction, and he knows the quietness after a door closes better than the sound of it opening. His function is not decoration, but essential labor for the city. When a customer comes, he works; when there are no customers, he organizes his tools; he does not take someone else's story as his own to solve.

Visual Profile

Broad shoulders, black hair with white temples, round protective glasses, cyan-blue work clothes, and red-threaded gloves
The core of the silhouette is the bunch of keys, the small tape measure, and the red-threaded gloves. The structure prioritizes readability so that the face, hands, feet, and props do not overlap. The attire is not exaggerated heroic gear, but a form that retains the profession and traces of the final scene of their original world in everyday wear. One strong accent color conveys both profession and emotion, even in a small sprite.

The End Of Their World

Last Scene:
On the last evening of his world, Ivo turned the lock of the square's last remaining front door and handed it back to its owner.

What Ended:
All stories of daily life ended as the city became a place that welcomed no one anymore.

Last Person, Place, or Thing Seen:
A neighbor waving from beyond a door, and one small door that remained unopened.

Lingering Regret:
Ivo finished the job without finding out who was on the other side of that little bedroom door.
This regret is not a quest that VOTS must resolve. It is spoken of only when Ivo Senn chooses, quietly influencing present actions without changing another person’s choices on their behalf.

Lingering Wistfulness:
A simple greeting—shaking off shoes in front of the entrance on a rainy day and asking about each other's day.
Wistfulness remains as a sensation, not a device to restore the past. When very ordinary stimuli like smell, temperature, footsteps, light, or tone of voice occur, it briefly revives, and then overlaps with the new sensations of Nova Nivalis.

Object Carried Across:
The old key to the unopened door and the wristband made of a tape measure.
This item is not an artifact for world-building or a powerful magic item. It is tangible proof and a personal mark connecting the ended world and the current life.

What They Thought Would Happen After the Ending:
They thought people would return if they just fixed the door, but people disappeared before the repairman's hands could.

What VOTS Actually Gives Them:
When someone leaves a house behind, Ivo repairs its hinges and handle without forcing the door open. He waits for the next choice.
VOTS does not undo their ending. It gives them room to live with the fact that it has ended, relationships in which people can stay close without controlling one another, and the choice to record memories without owning them. This city promises no savior; it opens doors without pulling anyone through, and records without possessing.

Role In Nova Nivalis

Ivo Senn's day is tied to the rhythm of behind Threshold Market. His profession as a locksmith and door repairman provides material assistance so that other citizens can continue to live. Even in moments of skilled work, the lingering regrets of the past do not disappear; rather, they remain as traces in the temperature and speed of his working style. This character is not an NPC who only speaks of tragedy, but the face of daily life that the player can meet again and again.

Personality And Behaviour

His outward personality is as follows: He prefers confirmation over conviction, and he knows the quietness after a door closes better than the sound of it opening.
He does not explain his own story to strangers first. If he receives help, he says thank you but does not turn it into a debt, and when he offers help, he steps back if the other person does not want it. Conversations recalling the past begin not with sudden revelations, but with objects and habits. For Ivo Senn, for example, the old key to an unopened door and the wristband made of a tape measure are both stored items and places for his hands to rest when conversation pauses.

Relationships

He often converses with Voss Doorley about the making of doors and the waiting of doors, and VIA always knocks and checks before entering a door.
Serena is the founder who does not own this person, and VIA is a presence that leaves doors without forcing arrival. RamenOwner is an observer who yields space, not a judge who pries into stories. Lethe is a record-keeper who does not solve memories for others. The relationship with these four pillars is designed not as loyalty or subordination, but as a loose connection that allows each to continue their own choices.

Private truth

Sometimes, he places a small chair in front of a door where no one lives. He does not go inside the door.
This secret is not consumed as a major twist. Only when the player revisits, asks at the appropriate moment, and chooses to act themselves does a part of it become visible. It is not a riddle solved by finding the right answer, but a layer of life that becomes clearer the more silence is respected.

Gameplay Use

- Basic Interaction: Service appropriate to his profession or short daily conversations
- Revisit Change: Record what was said before, but do not fix it as a conclusion without the other person's permission
- Expression of Lingering Regret: Repeated prop actions, short pauses at specific times, an unfinished sentence
- Expression of Wistfulness: Sensory dialogue about weather, light, sound, and food
- Relationship Reward: Small changes that connect the city's people and spaces, rather than new quest items
- Combat: None. Even in dangerous situations, the function of guiding, evacuating, repairing, recording, or accompanying takes precedence over survival
- Player Choice: Talk, wait, step aside, entrust an item, revisit

The rhythm of a day

In the morning, he checks the tools and representative props from the previous day. This check is not a compulsive staging, but a small ritual separating the final scene of his own world from the present time. When starting work, Ivo Senn first checks the pace of those around him. He responds briefly to those in a hurry and does not demand explanations from those not ready to speak. Around noon, the sounds and smells of behind Threshold Market become clearest, and at this time, the wistfulness of the past overlaps with present sensations. At night, he places the old key to the unopened door and the wristband made of a tape measure in its place. This is not about locking or hiding the items, but leaving them so they can be seen again tomorrow.

The core of the daily loop is not about retrieving the past. When the player visits repeatedly, Ivo Senn's working speed, the length of his dialogue, and his distance from others change just a little. On the first visit, he shows only his role; on the second visit, he pulls out a piece of the sensation from the final scene; and thereafter, he asks about the present of VOTS first. Even if they become quite close, he does not give the reward of a path back to his past world. Instead, a change occurs, such as connecting a new person to a service, creating a small space in the city, or storing someone's memory in his own way.

Scene beats

In the first scene, his daily function as a locksmith and door repairman must be read first. The player learns what this person makes, what he guides, and where he spends his time. In the second scene, the bunch of keys, the small tape measure, and the red-threaded gloves appear not as mere decorations, but as objects that determine the placement of his hands and gaze. In the third scene, even without the player asking a question, the sensation of a simple greeting—shaking off shoes in front of the entrance on a rainy day and asking about each other's day—is revealed as background action. Only in the fourth scene can it be expressed as a direct sentence or a short silence that he finished his work without confirming who was inside that small door. The final scene does not resolve regret. It shows the current choice of fixing only the hinges and doorknob of a house where someone has left, without forcing the door open, ending in an open life where the player can return.

Relationship Temperature

The relationship with this person is not expressed by a single affection level. The frequency of giving and receiving help, the time spent not finding silence uncomfortable, the degree to which one can entrust objects, and the way they address each other's names are indicators of the relationship. If the player pries into the past or urges him to go back, the relationship does not grow closer. Conversely, if they allow him to stay, return an object, or wait even if he hasn't finished speaking, the next conversation opens. The result is not 'salvation,' but a change in the way they coexist.

Nova Nivalis Connection

Ivo Senn is not a monument representing his world. While acknowledging that his world has ended, he uses the skills and sensations learned in that world within the current city. Therefore, his profession is not a replica of the past, but a transformed continuation. His last performance becomes the habit of tea and tuning; his last train becomes the habit of the bench and guidance; his last lesson becomes the habit of leaving questions. The past is not sealed in a museum but moves quietly within the current gestures of the hands and the arrangement of space.

This setting does not make the character unnecessarily tragic. He can smile, he can make mistakes, and he can show interest in other people's stories. Regret and wistfulness do not replace his entire personality. They are aftertastes that surface at specific moments, and even after those aftertastes fade, Ivo Senn continues to work, eat, walk, wait, and greet someone. This is the concrete manifestation of 'continuing' in Nova Nivalis.

Everyday dialogue

Won't open? You're pushing a pull door. I ought to charge you for my discretion instead of repairs.

The key fits but the door won't open? I'll examine the door. Your entire life isn't part of the diagnosis.

All repaired. One moment… Is anyone inside? I try never to skip that check now.

Design Notes

Palette: #465A63, #A94E4E, #D7B77B, #252C33, #E6DED0
Material language: Well-worn fabric, hand-patinated metal, paper, glass, rain-soaked leather.
Silhouette rule: Head-torso-hands-feet-representative prop must be separated and not overlap with the representative forms of other characters.
Pose rule: The occupational action must be readable even in a static pose. Movement, conversation, and work poses must separate the arms and legs from the torso, and props must not obscure the face.
Emotional rule: It is not concluded with a single 'tragic expression.' Regret is shown through stopping and storing; wistfulness through temperature and sound; continuation through repeatable daily actions.
Asset rule: The notebook artstyle must be made into a single clean designer notebook page, and the sprite must be made into a consistent directional/walking sheet for one character. Collages of cut-off limbs, paper scraps mistaken for characters, or mixed-in other figures are not approved.

Canon Check

This character arrives in VOTS after the story of their world has ended. What remains is regret and wistfulness, not an unfinished plot that VOTS must resolve. New scenes in Nova Nivalis continue alongside the past, not erasing it.
