Core Premise

Nube Ost arrived at Nova Nivalis after living out the story of her own world. She did not come to solve an unfinished incident, but rather drifted to the outskirts of this city due to the habit of guiding people in the empty sky and sitting beside them even after the Sky Festival ended. VOTS is not a place that restores a lost festival; it is a place where small lives continue, sitting under a sky where nothing appears every night, and pointing out a spot that is still worth looking at. Within that life, Nube is still trying to prove the value of a night with nothing to see.

Identity

Nube Ost is the 'Empty Sky Attendant,' guarding the viewing area under a night sky devoid of stars or aurora, beyond the Last Snow Platform. She guides those who come to a seat and points out a spot that is at least worth looking at in a sky with nothing visible—the texture of the clouds, the nuance of the darkness, the subtle brightness of the horizon. Her job in the city is strange but necessary—there are people who want to look up at the sky even on a night with nothing to see, and she sits beside them.

She tends to belittle her own work, thinking, 'If there's nothing to see, who would come?' if there are no guests. However, she is not steeped in despair. When she finds a spot worth looking at in the empty sky, she quietly feels satisfied, and if the person sitting beside her finds comfort in the seat rather than the sky, she considers it a good night.

Last Scene:
Even after the last festival ended and nothing more appeared in the sky in a world where only the Sky Festival remained, Nube remained in the empty viewing area, acting as a guide to the empty sky.

Original Life

In her original world, Nube was a viewing area attendant for the Sky Festival. On nights when the sky was filled with fireworks, stars, and aurora, she guided people to the best-viewing spots. Even after the festival ended and the sky became empty, she remained in the viewing area to guide the empty sky. On the last night, she asked the person sitting beside her, 'Why are you sitting here when there's nothing to see?' and made him stand up. That last day was dark. There was nothing in the sky, only rows of cushions in the viewing area, and only the empty glass bottle remained around her neck.

What They Seek

What she outwardly seeks: The value of a night with nothing to see. Nube wants to prove that even the empty sky has worth.
What she doesn't know but must find: That the empty sky is already a spectacle for the person sitting beside her. That what is to be seen is not in the sky, but in the seat next to her.
